about

hello! i’m gabi (they/she) and i’m a writer, artist, educator, and PhD candidate interested in relations to urban ecologies and questions of ecological belonging in neoliberalized, settler-colonial places. my research areas include invasive species, urban ecological restoration, logics of conquest and dispossession, property regimes, decolonial and antiracist environmental education, feminist political ecology, abolition ecologies, and more-than-human geographies.

i’m a settler of irish, french, and acadian ancestry born on the traditional unceded territory of the Wəlastəkwiyik (Maliseet). i’m currently based in Tkaronto (toronto) in the Dish With One Spoon Territory, on the traditional territories of the Wendat, the Anishnaabeg, Haudenosaunee, Métis, and the Treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.
